                                        COMMUNICATION

Developing new products, inventions and innovations are always communicated through engineered drawings, which are used as a way to communicate information to Designers and Engineers.
Interpreting The importance of Engineering Drawings, the information they communicate about the design/information is critically important.  The uniform standards by using uniform standards, processes and tools.  The current conventions you will use to communicate drawing information is called ANSI, American National Standard.  By using specific conventions, Engineers and Designers have a uniform way to communicate all information needed to create a part, size, material, tolerances and more.  This is important these areas are standardized so no further information needs to be communicated to the fabricator, for production.  This decreases the need for lead time and any confusion about final production.

BFA DESIGN TECHNOLGY PROJECT PBGR's

2. Abilities for a Technological World
Students will develop the ability to intentionally apply the design process, implementation
of tools and machines to model, test, troubleshoot, observe, investigate, and analyze
the relationship between solutions and assess impacts on all technological products and systems.

Standard 11.  Students will develop the abilities to apply the design process.
Indicator R: Evaluate final solutions and communicate observation, processes, and results of the entire design process, using verbal, graphic, quantitative, virtual, and written means, in addition to three-dimensional models.

3. Design and Application

Students will identify and develop an awareness of the attributes of design and engineering practices, the role of research and development, invention and innovation, and experimentation play in developing solutions to a problem.

5. The Designed World
Students will learn to turn resources, materials, tools, machines, people, information,
energy, capital and time into useful products and systems.

Standard #17 Students will develop an understanding of and be able to select and use information

and communication technologies

Indicator P: Students will develop an understanding of and be able to select and use information and communication technologies.  In order to select, use, and understand information and communication technologies, students should learn that:  There are many ways to communicate information, such as graphic and electronic means.

HS-ETS1-  2Design a solution to a complex real-world problem by breaking it down into smaller, more manageable problems that can be solved through engineering.

MATH COMMON CORE CONNECTIONS

Identify the shapes of two-dimensional cross-sections of three-dimensional objects, and identify three-dimensional objects generated by rotations of two-dimensional objects.

Learning Targets:
