   Problem:

Smulski Enterprises LLC has commissioned the BFA Engineering Students to provide prototype examples of swag they can sell on the open market.  The product must be made from 1/4" finished plywood and be reproducible.

 key chain's

#1 Key Chain

1)Key chain must be have an outside diameter of 2" or less

Must have a 1/8" hole centered 1/4" away from the outside edge to accept a key chain ring.

#2 Magnet/Coaster/Key chain

1) Choose either of the 2 next projects

2) There must be Text on the Product that is created by the designer

3) There must be a cut out other than a perimeter shape, this can be either the text or part of the logo 

 Refrigerator magnet

Coasters 

#3 Negative inlay

1)  Choose an image you wish to cut out

2)  Using this image you are required to use Engrave, Cut and score

3)  This image will have 3 parts

        a) Main image that will be engraved, scored however must be cut or cut around

        b) You must inlay a different material (different wood, acrylic) in or around the image

        c) You must have a backer piece that will allow you to glue the pieces together 

 ASSIGNMENT ACTION STEPS 

You will choose 4 pictures that must be black and white.  

You will need to save these pictures to your computer.  Remember where you save the pics.

Bring Image into AI

Live trace the image

Ungroup the image

Select the direct selection tool

delete the outside shape and any white background image

Check image for any tails, spots or hangers and delete them

Save image as an SVG

Bring image into Glowforge
