Catapult ~ simple machines

ASSIGNMENTS FOR CATAPULT CHALLENGE:

Please make a copy the Pre-assessment on lever classifications and simple machines in your POE folder and complete the questions to the best of your ability.
  1. Please Read Lever Classifications first.  Pay close attention to the different classifications of levers.  Once you have read this partner up with someone and test their understanding of the different classes.
  2. Once you feel you comfortable identifying the different classes go to Identifying Levers  make a copy in your folder and follow the link at the top of the page to the site and answer the questions on the sheet.
  3.  Next you need to complete an activity that explores the relationship between:

               PATENT APPLICATION

Once you have completed reading the Design brief you should start a new doc and write the problem solving statement. then draw sketch out the catapult with you ranging device and innovations clearly drawn an labeled in your drawing.  Once you have done this present the drawings to Symula and then choose your best solution.  This is your ticket to get the materials for your project.

PBGRS:
1. Design and Application
Students will identify and develop an awareness of the attributes of design and engineering practices, the role of research and development, invention and innovation, and experimentation play in developing solutions to a problem.

2. Abilities for a Technological World
Students will develop the ability to intentionally apply the design process, implementation of tools and machines to model, test, troubleshoot, observe, investigate, and analyze the relationship between solutions and assess impacts on all technological products and systems.
