Additive & Subtractive Manufacturing Technologies

Product Case project
Image result for stratasys printer      Laser information

Follow the link to the project so you can explore the problem of creating a product case.

FOR TODAY YOU SHOULD:

1) Create a document for the project where you should first; identify the problem statement.  Articulate what you see as the problem.  Be concise and avoid including the parameters in the problem statement.

Create some 2-3 basic sketch ideas before you do your "Research"

Think about it this way.  If  your just going on to google to
find something someone else made, what are you learning?
from my perspective.  Nothing.  Create you ideas and refine
your ideas based upon your research.

2)Think of a design you would like, can be almost anything think, just think about it then do your best to ketch it out.  Once you have your sketches which should include a few views which should include some of the information that a 3 view, top, front and RT side, as well as an isometric would include.

Additive Manufacturing

This is a first for Additive Manufacturing.  I am predicting that the Biotech industry will exponentially expand with the limitless possibilities that this process brings to the industry.

Assignment:

Please read the information below and follow the links for articles and clips that will create new awareness of how additive technology applications are beginning alerted the perceptions of what is real and what is not...or it is?  That is for you to decide.

3D printing and the history of modern Technological devices.  Click below to explore the history

Assignment Part 1:  After you read the article's, please make a comment on your thoughts; (remember to log into your google account first)

simple machine

Please take a few minutes and show me how much you know about simple machines...  You may do this in the online form or print it out and hand write it.  Up to you how you would like to do it.

Simple Machines Pre Assessment

This is a simple online activity to begin to learn about how simple machines work.   You may choose to do the worksheet as you do the activity.

Catapult ~ simple machines

ASSIGNMENTS FOR CATAPULT CHALLENGE:

Please make a copy the Pre-assessment on lever classifications and simple machines in your POE folder and complete the questions to the best of your ability.
  1. Please Read Lever Classifications first.  Pay close attention to the different classifications of levers.  Once you have read this partner up with someone and test their understanding of the different classes.
  2. Once you feel you comfortable identifying the different classes go to Identifying Levers  make a copy in your folder and follow the link at the top of the page to the site and answer the questions on the sheet.
  3.  Next you need to complete an activity that explores the relationship between:

Principles of Engineering II 9-28-18 assignment

Good Morning.  As we discussed in class yesterday you will be continuing to work on our hydroponics project.  Each of you should be working on whichever area you decided best fit your interests.  Please remember today must be used for:

  • Deciding on where the structure should go
  • Gathering a list of material vendors
  • Gathering a list of plant suppliers
  • Finalizing the system design
  • Continue research of the needed components based upon the design
  • Begin a sketch drawing with dimensions and labeled parts. i.e. elbow, pump, hose, pipe...etc.
Please make certain you all contribute to updating the class document.

Thanks and have a great day and weekend!
